Chartistics provides a collection of interactive tables and charts based on performance and statistical data derived from standard price data for financial assets.

It works with any user supplied price data (Equities, indices, commodities, exchange rates, etc)

 

Asset

An asset is any item which has closing prices. Examples are shares, bonds, exchange rates, commodities.

Asset Register

The Asset Register contains a list a currently loaded assets. Selection can be restricted using filtering and can be used for reports and views. The register can be saved as a Pack.

Files

Price File

Text file containing daily closing prices. It can be in any of the following formats:

• Without the asset's symbol
  • Date,Close
  • Date,Close,Volume
  • Date,Open,High,Low,Close
  • Date,Open,High,Low,Close,Volume
• With the asset's symbol
  • Symbol,Date,Close
  • Symbol,Date,Close,Volume
  • Symbol,Date,Open,High,Low,Close
  • Symbol,Date,Open,High,Low,Close,Volume

Asset Properties File

This is a text file containing asset properties. It is used to update the columns (name, sector, etc) in the asset registry.

Batch Definitions File

A batch definitions file contains a list of data files and (optionally) an asset proporties file which can be loaded in bulk.

Data Pack File

A Pack File contains price and asset data which were saved from a previous session.
